PoM SESSION TUES 3rd JUNE 25

Pimlico Open Mic Setup

The evening is all set to be a delightful experience, featuring a state-of-the-art PA system and a beautifully arranged catering table brimming with a tantalizing selection of warm and cold dishes, along with steaming tea, aromatic coffee, refreshing water, and an assortment of delectable snacks. We have thoughtfully prepared a special dinner table for our esteemed elderly guests, complemented by ten elegant chairs, and a cozy couch adorned with plush pillows for anyone who might indulge a bit too much. As the night unfolds, the dance floor is sure to come alive with energy, culminating in a mesmerizing performance by a group singers who will sing in perfect harmony. It’s an evening that promises to be both enchanting and unforgettable!

Pull Your Wagon!

We recently got a new wagon to help us transport items from the flat to the club, which is only three minutes away! It makes it super easy to take our luggage right to the committee room using the lift. Harminder was a big help with loading everything up, and George kindly made three trips back and forth with it. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Indian Desert by Heena

Heena graced us with her presence since January, having traveled from India to support her son Hardick and his partner Padmani in Churchill Gardens. As a cherished member of our community, her departure on Monday leaves us with heavy hearts. Her contributions have been nothing short of remarkable, and the delightful Indian sweets she brought were a true treat that everyone savored. Heena, you will be dearly missed, and we wish you a safe and smooth journey back home!

Group Singing (and Dancing)

Group Singing

Group singing captivates the audience with an infectious rendition of Chubby Checker’s iconic 1961 hit, “Let’s Twist Again.” As the song’s voice fills the air, members join in, singing along and attempting to dance the “twist,” each movement guided by the fading echoes of their memories. The origins of this vibrant dance remain a mystery, but the term “twist” has woven its way into numerous songs throughout the first half of the 20th century. Written by the talented duo Kal Mann and Dave Appell, this timeless classic became one of the defining hits of 1961, soaring to No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard pop chart and No. 3 on Cash Box in August, before ultimately reaching the coveted No. 1 spot.
